Jack A. Medovich, P.E. is President/CEO and an Owner of Fire & Life Safety America (formally known as East Coast Fire Protection), which has nineteen offices located in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast portions of the United States as well as Texas. He is a Fire Protection Engineering graduate of the University of Maryland and is a registered Professional Engineer in eight states. He is a past fire protection engineer in Fairfax County, Virginia for their Fire Prevention Division and has been a fire protection contractor for over 30 years. He has served as a committee member on NFPA 13, 14, 20, 25, 101, 750 & 5000 and currently represents the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) on the Technical Correlating Committee on Automatic Sprinkler Systems encompassing NFPA Standards 13, 13-R, 13-D, 16, 24 & 291.
He served as Chairman for the AFSA’s Chesapeake Bay Chapter for over 13 years. He was President of AFSA’s Virginia Chapter from 2014-2020. He currently is Chairman of the Burn Survivors Foundation, a 501c3 organization that provides money to other 501c3 charities. At the national level, he serves on AFSA’s Board of Directors since 2008. He also serves on many national committees for the AFSA as well, included but not limited to, their Executive Committee & Staff Advisory Committee.
Jack has also been a volunteer firefighter for over 40 years.
